Currently Experiencing Some Technical Difficulties...

My deepest apologies to my lovely readers but right now my cold has turned into full fledged strep throat and I additionally developed a terrible skin abrasion on the lower half of my face. I'm like a walking disease right now and I'm afraid to even post outfits right now for fear that I'll somehow technologically transmit this sickness to you all. Anyways, in the meantime I can at least post some of my favorite pj pics!

So we all consider pjs as the blah zone. It's as if pjs don't count as "real" fashion. Are you kidding me? And if it REALLY doesn't matter, how do you feel when you get caught by neighbour or have to open the door in your favorite cow and moon flannel pjs and Winnie the Pooh fleece robe? Ya, it's pretty embarassing, unless you're one of those weird kids that goes to lectures that way. The way I see it, if you wouldn't open the door in it, it's gotta go. So, stop dressing like a slob at night and slip into one of these awesome alternatives instead:

Gingham is a classic pattern and this slip will never go out of fashion. Comfy and still not frumpy. What a shocker. It's from ASOS.
I love looking at this brand even though I've never bought anything by them. It's called Keep me and I know for sure they sell in on Karmaloop.com but I'm not sure where else. Anyways, I love the fact that the cotton looks soooo comfortable and the dress is off the shoulder. What more could you ask for?
This makes me wish Canada had a Topshop:(. It's hard being left out, but you lucky Americans can make this one your own. I'd definately rock this ALL DAY.
I'm sure you can all recognize this one as being from Topshop. I love the fact that it's a romper, and it's soooo gorgeous, my only beef with wearing rompers to sleep is that the whole going to the washroom at 3 am all drowsy-like and wearing a romper is not such a good idea. I'm just saying. But its still better than ripped corporate t-shirts and gym shorts.
This one's from Forever 21. I'm sure some of you actually own this. I think it's super adorable and once wanted the pink version. Sexy but cutesy at the same time, a deadly combo.
This is another from Forever 21. So cute. I myself am either a slip girl or a beater and short shorts girl, and this kind of is a mix of both.
This one is from ASOS. It's a romper too, I couldn't resist. I love the all over hearts pattern and the cute little heart buttons. Valentine's Day is my favorite holiday, btw.
This is one of my favourites. It mimics your fav. oversized tee, but makes it look much cooler. I almost don't think I'm quite cool enough for this one.
Most of my slips look like this. I love linen to sleep in because it never gets too hot, and I love floral and eyelet together because it's super romantic. Plus it's not "trendy". Another classic. From VS.
I LOOOOOVE this one. Not only does it have a drop waist, but check out the lace trim on the bottom. AMAZING. From Victoria's Secret.
This one is actually the one I like best. I love menswear for women, and this shirtdress has it all, tiny pinstripes, pink, and fitted to show off your curves. It doesn't get much better than this.
Ok, maybe it does if you add pockets and a giant bow too! From VS.
This is another great slip from Victoria's Secret. It's a great rich colour and the pleating can't be beat.
You guys won't believe how tempted I got when researching this to buy everything I just posted. Hopefully it'll encourage you to update your pjs as well!!

Blazer: Forever 21
Scarf: Cheap Monday, $25 (reversible!)

Today I headed to Winners to see what was up and to check out the boot sale now on. Unfortunately for me, the so called boot sale was a dud, but I did manage to score a French Connection blazer (which of course I had to style right away

and these sweet Givenchy pin striped pink tights

The blazer was $24.99 and the tights were $7.99 muahahah.

So the trip was an all around success, except my boyfriend and bro kept loudly arguing about whether or not a woman can get pregnant twice at the same time. Note to self, leave boys at home to avoid dirty glares from offended seniors.

Carleton

School has officially taken me as its prisoner, and therefore I've been hanging around campus like a uni-rat 24/7 as of late. It bites. However, knowing full well that today I'd be going to Linguistics class(I'm lost), attending group meetings(I'm still lost) and finally a very long long Public International Law class(don't even get me started), I opted to give my hectic day the middle finger by busting out my Fendis and basically dressing as inappropriately for constant walking as possible. Well, it made me feel better!! I also got this rad plaid jacket from Forever 21 in the mail finally. It's so funny to me that I ordered this stuff on Friday and it has arrived before my now TWO BACKORDERED orders from AA. The whole world must be going on AA sprees I think. Oh well. OH and these are the denim leggings!I love them more than I ever thought I could love leggings. They look like tight jeans, but they feel AMAZING, and the best part is that they're high waisted, but the band can be folded to be low rise, the possibilities are endless. I think if you're going to buy any one single thing from American Apparel for the winter, let this be it!! Oh and I did try to do a close up of the texture but I basically suck hard at photography. However I CAN do a mean drunken tap dance routine. I need sleep.

Thank you and Goodnight!

First of all, you guys completely and utterly rock my socks, your comments are much appreciated. That said, I am so sorry about the delay in responding, I've just caught a nasty nasty cold and my wisdom teeth are coming in baaad so I've had a major toothache for the past few days. Major bummer. Anyways, I decided that instead of wanderng around the house all groggy like, I was going to take charge and put my best foot forward regardless of this petty disease. And I did. All the way to the drug store to get cough drops and back to my bed. How's that for progress;)

Here's what I wore for my drug store adventure
Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket
What I'm wearing:
Skirt: UO, $50
Tights: AA, $16
Shirt: Lacoste, $20
Scarf: AA, $16
Jacket: H&M, $40
Shoes: Fendi, $250

note: I've worn this outfit before haven't I? I'm having deja vu.

Oh! And I happened to stumble across this beauty...

I know it doesn't look like much, but canvas book bags are SO hard to find these days, let alone one that isn't complete heinous. Who knew I'd find my dream school bag at my local drug store? I think the best part about it is that it'll go with EVERYTHING, so I won't have to keep switching bags. They had the old school kids ones too, but in light blue and baby pink. So cute.
So, I also went online shopping today, and bought a crapload of goodies for wintertime, which seems to have arrived already in good ol Canada, so anyways, first I hit up American Apparel, and bought

The faux denim high waisted leggings, because, let's face it, I'm too lazy to wear jeans. They're not that comfortable, with the exception of my J-Brands, and I don't like them until they're thoroughly worn in. Blah. Furthermore, they're freezing in the winter. AND, they never fit properly into my boots. There, I said it. And if you're a hardcore Levi enthusiast, no hard feelings, I'm just not that into jeans. With, of course, the exception of well worn in vintage jeans, which I heart times a million. Ok, so I bought these jeans because my Fendis told me to.....next!
I had to buy the unisex viscose sexuali-tank, just to say I'm wearing the unisex viscose sexuali-tank. Simple as that:P
The nylon spandex micro-mesh bodysuit. I think Ashleigh from Rantings of a Fashion Addict already owns this, as well as Rumi from Fashion Toast. It's pretty much awesome. I was thisclose to getting the nude one and putting my spandex white tank underneath, but I gave into the black temptation. Why is it so hard to resist defaulting to black? anyways, I will love it forever I'm sure.
It's kind of sad that I've put in another AA order before my last AA order has arrived, but I'm going to blame that on poor customer service rather than an intense shopping addiction on my part:)
So then I trekked over to the Forever 21 website and picked up

A white blazer. Essential. I wish I could find a vintage one but it'll do.
A striped white scarf. I think I might have a creme coloured cashmere one somewhere, but fringed scarves are irresistable.

A multi strand necklace. Because I have no jewellery minus my grandma's hand-me-downs of unicorn cuffs and Christmas brooches.

I bought this because I'm trying to slowly ween myself off of my giant night gowns with golden retrievers' faces on them (yes, I'm serious). I might actually do a little pjs post soon because nobody really talks about it. What do you guys think?
A ruffled white shirt. I don't really even own a white dress shirt, believe it or not, and I bought this to go with my custom made skirts and for my law presentations.

I think I may replace the buttons on this but I love it, it's typical Canadian wear, we seem to have an intense need for plaid in everything we wear on a regular basis. Well, maybe it's just me. I love $30 coats.

I originally got this because my very very VERY kind boyfriend offered to buy me $120 worth of clothes(the only remedy for my illness I told him) and I only had $110 in my cart. But now that I keep looking at it, it's very pretty. I've never a colour combo like this and I think it'll look awesome with my light coloured winter coats.

So that's my new winter wardrobe, it'll probably be all I need for a WHILE, but we'll see. Oh and completely offtopic, but I discovered, to my horror yesterday that I bought 7 winter coats over the summer. a) why would I buy winter coats in the summer(minus the fact that some were a ridiculous $10 a piece) and b) who NEEDS 7 NEW winter coats, not coats altogether, but NEW ones. Argh, I'm terrible. On Run's House last night, Angela says to her counsellor, who she and Vanessa are going to see for their shopping addictions,

"Yesterday I went out to buy new sheets and I ended up buying barbells."

I feel your pain, Angela.

Bueller?

Ok so over the past few weeks I've been posting, and I although I know for a fact that readers are up, nobody's talking! Lurkers, all of you!! So, what's going on, are my posts boring you guys, do you not like what's being posted, OR is it just more fun lurking? Either way, let me know what's going to make this blog a happier place, it'll benefit me and you both. Mi casa es su casa, so pull up a chair, get comfy, and most importantly, shout me a "hey sister" to let me know you're alive:) I want to get to know you, yes YOU gorgeous, so holla at yo girl!!! Anyways, now that that's out of the way, this is what I wore today. I finally got to debut my cashmere skirt, which is lovely, and I started doing the whole chictopia scarf thingy. I like it, it makes outfits a little more put together, and this peachy pink colour should come in handy with a few different looks. Argh, so I'm off to my sociology class where I'll likely have to endure another dozen first year students asking "what's a syllabus?" Shoot me, shoot me now. I am officially old. Enjoy!

Rain Rain Go Away

So after a full day of craptactular weather, I decided to defy nature and put on my brightest, sunniest clothes. I totally forgot about this dress actually. it was the very first major purchase I ever made after I got my first job. I remember prior to ordering i waiting by the computer for hours to see if it would go on sale eventually. Lucky for me it did, and it was worth every penny. What made it even better was seeing Natalie Portman rocking the same dress a week later. That's like scuba diving with Bono for a 15 year old. Anyways, these are my new Aldo shoes, I love them and they're super comfy. I also decided to do my hair a la 3.1 Phillip Lim Spring '09 (ok, minus the wicked part and slickness, maybe next time).

Look! I painted my room! Actually I just got bored with photobucket. How do you like my periwinkle playland?

Photobucket

What about a room as drab as the weather?

Photobucket

Ok, ok, but seriously, this is what my room really looks like...

Photobucket
Haha, but seriously, doesn't that last one look like just about every 80s music video ever made?

What I'm wearing:

Dress: A.B.S, $120
Tights: AA, $16
Shoes: Aldo, $30

Oh! and I also managed to score these beauties

For a sweet $175 (including $20 shipping)!!! Come to mama. Think these are short enough for school?

***note, that is just a random mattress, not mine.

On a roll

Ragtime

So today I got a little break from the back to school madness and decided to spend it zenning out at one of my favorite places, Ragtime vintage store. I was immediately drawn to all sorts of gems, like these amazing Chloe-ish studded boots, which I literally tried to force my foot into, low black cowboy boots of the same vibe, cute little slips, and the raddest leather skirt in the world. Problem? nothing fit. I even tried to figure out a way to make the leather skirt fit if folded near my ribcage, but it was a definate no go. I should've maybe gotten it in case it fit one of you lovely readers, so if you're about a size 0ish or extra small, lemme know because it was a steal at $14 and absolutely perfect. Anyways, determined not to go home empty handed, I found two scarves,

The first one is silk and I think will be perfect for adding a little pizazz to ordinary school outfits, and the second polka dot one is bascially because it made me happy when I saw it and shouldn't all clothes do that??

I'm pretty excited to introduce each of these into my wardrobe, although I'd definately be a bit more excited if I had studded boots and a high waisted leather skirt in tow as well. Bah.

Anyways, here's what I wore to one of my favorite stores,
I've got to stop wearing those boots so much.
What I'm wearing:
Boots: Nine West
Tights: Walmart, $6
Dress: AA, $10
Belt: vintage
Blazer: Forever 21, $10
Scarf: H&M
Handbag: Barneys, $50

School Daze

This is me and a wall at my school, where I seem to be lurking around 24/7 these days.

Plain? Check. Generic? Check. Hmmm, maybe I should bust out my Fendis for Linguistics. Muahahahah.

Oh and update on my AA shipment, the double breasted cardis and black tri-blend everything is on back order right now, I just got an email from AA saying it'll likely take two weeks to come in:(. Oh well, vintage shopping it is then! Tomorrow I'm heading to the most wickedest vintage store in O-town, Ragtime. I can't wait to ruffle through badass military gear and obnoxiously bright 80s blazers while rocking out to 40s jazz, wish me luck;).

What I'm wearing:
Boots, Minnetonka, $50
Tights: Walmart (made from BAMBOO! Go green!), $8
Tunic: UO, $40
Belt: vintage, $9
Denim jacket: vintage
Annoying bright blue hangbag, AA, $37

While we wait..

I'm so very desperate to get my new custom skirts I can hardly contain it. In the meantime, I've been wearing some pretty boring typical university student clothes lately. The first day I actually wore my Jbrands, a striped shirt and scarf with my patent oxfords and I was in PAIN. They're definately not campus friendly. It could have also been because I've become so accustomed to rocking the Havaianas all summer long that I didn't even remember how to walk in heels. Bummer. Anyways, I woke up way too early this morning and was about to reach for the designated dorky pull over sweatshirt when I said to myself "This year, I'm going to look professional and well put together." I guess that ruled out the baby pink Mickey Mouse sweatshirt option then, huh? So this is what I literally threw together, it's a little boring, but it held up against the bad weather and marathon walk across campus.

Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket

I love this jacket to death, it has all these exposed zippers and metal buttons all over it, its water proof, and it even has a hood!

What I'm wearing:
Jacket: H&M, I don't remember how much, but it was clearance so I think around $20.
Shirt: Joe(men's section), $10
Leggings: AA, $35
Socks: AA, 14
Boots: Nine West, $150
Sunglasses: ebay, $10

I'm going to try and fit a lot of stuff in this post so bear with me, I went online shopping the other day and placed an order at Victoria's Secret for those infamous studded booties and they came late last week. In case you don't already know, they look like this

I absolutely agree as I usually do with miss Ashleigh from Rantings of a Fashion Addict that they are basically mediocre quality but they are completely ridiculously rad. I can't wait to wear them, I'm just trying to figure out the appropriate combo. So in preparation for the RVCA X Erin Wasson collection, I decided when doing my routine browsing on the Revolve Clothing website to check out the BRAND itself to see what they're made of. $100 later, I had this

It's called the Ruby Rib beanie in onyx blue, and its the most comfortable and amazing beanie I've had maybe ever, the perfect slouchiness, and the added cashmere makes it really comfortable.

and this,

It's the RVCA Shiver pocket tee in gray noise, its completely awesome and perfect for a default outfit.

and this,

They are called the RVCA Dem Pants in Onyx Blue. OMG. They are the most perfect pair of pants I've ever owned. They're super light weight, perfectly tight on the legs and thighs and perfectly fitted in the waist. When I used to shop at Stitches and Sirens, etc. back in the day, I remember I used to get so frustrated because all their pants would be tight on the waist and super loose on the hips. I always had to either choose pants with a fitted waist OR fitted on the thighs, never both no wonder you see so many women walking around with muffin tops! Anyways, these are the PERFECT pants, and I highly recommend them, they even have them in black. Love Dem pants! (sorry, I had to!)

Needless to say, I'm reeeeeeeeeeally impressed by the current offferings from RVCA, particularly the collection on Revolve Clothing (http://www.revolveclothing.com/), and can hardly wait until the Wasson collab comes out.

Continuing with the never ending post, I also went shopping online yesterday and visited an old standby, http://www.americanapparelstore.com/ , and I picked up a few things to go with my new skirts. I got this

Um, if you don't know already, AA has TRI BLACK now. I guessing nobody else is nearly as excited about this as me but I've been waiting for this forever!

Those tights I've been wanting white tights for a really long time to wear with cream coloured oxfords and I found these.

I also picked up a tri blend scarf in this chocolatey beige colour and a double breasted cardigan in Sahara but it seems to have disappeared off of the AA website all of a sudden....has it been discontinued or what?

Then I headed over to Aldo where I found these beauties

on sale for $34.98!! Of course with a click of a button or two, they were immediately in my possession.

On a final note, all I want for Christmas is........

All of this, and maybe the whole Proenza Schouler spring 2009 collection. Please and thank you:)

So pumped!

O.M.G, so after what seems like ages and ages, I've finally found someone who's wickedly talented to make some puff tulip skirts a la Miu Miu for me. I'm kind of tempted to keep this my own little secret, but who am I kidding, you guys are too awesome to hide things from! So, I went on Etsy when I was bored one day and found this super talented fellow style blogger (www.bird-baths.blogspot.com) and here's the link for her Etsy store http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5576267. I don't know if she's still taking custom orders but I'm very very excited for mine, I got a polyester blend baby blue one, a dark green plaid one, and although I can't show you the other two, the last one I'm getting, the natural linen one, looks like this http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=14413910. Doesn't she do an amazing job??? Make sure to visit her blog to see other great examples of her skirts!!

The Next Best Thing

I've been obsessing over Chictopia superstar Lulu's Marni pumps for what seems like ages now. I love them even more than the infamous MJ ice skating boots. There, I said it. Anyways, the main reason why I adore them so so so very much is the fabulous colour combo. The bright blue paired with the deep red reminds me of my favourite tri flavoured popsicles (the rocket?). So, desperate to recreate the Marni vibe, I rummaged through my own closet to see what I could find. Although this look is not NEARLY as wicked mad awesome as Lulu's shoes, this is what I came up with. Oh, and side note, I do not have a moustache, its the shadows and lighting in my room, I hope:P
