"why are you dressed up?"

If I hear that one more time today, I swear I'm going to scream. I apologize that I left my skinny jeans and abercrombie pullover in my closet today. Not that there's necessarily anything wrong with casual dressing, but can't I just care how I look without being perceived as being high-maintenance or odd? To be honest, I didn't even think I WAS dressed up today. But every person that saw me asked me the dreaded question. Can y'all relate to this? Well I'll show you what I wore and let you be the judge.

cheapest outfit ever!!

what I'm wearing:
skirt worn as a dress: stolen from a bin of would be donated things from my sister
belt: vintage
tights: walmart
shoes: gojane
cozy lovely cape cardigan: old navy

I'm going to Washington, D.C. in a couple of weeks for the presidential inauguration and I am so excited because a) hello, its a moment in history, and b)I get to see some of my long lost family, one of whom gets to be Obama's guest of honour!!! so amazing. Anyways, even though I have dresses, I don't feel like any of them are special enough for the occasion and want to purchase a new one. So I NEED you guys to help dress me for whatever ball/gala I go to!!! I'll show you the current options in an upcoming post. Ciao pretties xxoo.

it looks pretty and casual to me!

I used to get that question all the time, but since I'm still in highschool and see the same people every day, they have learned to just understand it's what I do.

I think you look great, not to dressed up at all. You can always go with, "because I know that it takes the same amount of time to put on a dress and hosiery as jeans and a sweatshirt." Or if you are feeling particularly snappy -"because I am chic on a daily basis ok?!"

Keep "dressing up" every day. Your style is to be envied
